This educational and methodological guide presents Vaccination is currently one of the leading methods for preventing vaccine-preventable infectious diseases. In recent years, Uzbekistan has achieved significant success in the fight against infectious diseases. In accordance with the state program, large-scale anti-epidemic and preventive work against infectious diseases has been launched in Uzbekistan. As a result, polio has been eradicated since 1996, and this was certified by the WHO (June 22, 2002). Cases of acute respiratory infections in children aged 6 to 15 years decreased by 34.4%, pneumonia by 49.7%, and bronchitis by 32.8%. Both routine vaccination and a series of mass immunization campaigns throughout the country played a key role in this. In accordance with ‘the National Immunization Schedule, 99% of children have received vaccines against 12 vaccine-preventable infectious diseases recommended by the WHO. Every child has the opportunity to be vaccinated free of charge at their place of residence. Immunization prevents up to 3 million deaths worldwide from vaccine-preventable infectious diseases such as measles, pneumonia, diarrhea, diphtheria, and others. In our country, vaccinations are carried out according to the National Immunization Schedule, which is constantly updated.
