The monograph reflects main theoretical and practical aspects of surgical treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH). Much attention is paid to various methods of surgical treatment of BPH. An improved classification system of postoperative complications of different surgical methods in the treatment of BPH with criteria for uncomplicated and complicated course of the postoperative period was presented. It has been determined that for an objective assessment of the quality of surgery performed for BPH, an adequate assessment of postoperative complications is necessary in accordance with these criteria.
