This study guide provides a detailed overview o f the etiology, epidemiology, pathogenesis, and clinical progression o f HIV infection, as well as the clinical presentation o f HIV-associated diseases and diagnostic methodologies. The manual has a practical orientation, covering the fundamentals o f medical care for persons living with HIV, post-exposure prophylaxis, immunoprophylaxis in HIV-infected patients, and their social support. These comprehensive measures improve the quality o f life o f individuals living with HIV by enhancing the efficacy o f antiretroviral therapy.
This study guide is intended fo r practical training and independent study by students o f the faculties o f pediatrics, internal medicine, medical pedagogy, and medical prophylaxis at the medical university. The study guide was reviewed and approved at the Scientific Council meeting o f Samarkand State Medical University and was recommended for publication.
